- Major League service time is through the 2009 season.  172 days of service time is considered 1 major league season. Service time listing shows the years before the decimal point, and the days after. Ex: 2.134 is 2 years and 134 days of service time.  Though the season is really 180 days or so long, you cannot accrue anymore than 172 days of service time in a season.

- Major league minimum salary in 2010 and 2011 is $400K.  Minor league minimum in 2010 and 2011 for players who were on the 40-man roster the previous year is $65K.  Players on the 40-man roster for the first time who are in the minors get about $15K in Double-A and about $17K in Triple-A.  Players who play at both the minor league and major league level throughout the year get a split contract, which is for pre-arbitration players on the 40-man roster that calls for a daily rate for days spent on the active big league roster and another daily rate for days spent in the minors.

- Free agency is projected as if all players played a full season at the big league level from this year going forward.  Obviously, for several players free agency will actually be pushed back a year or two as they spend more time in the minors in the coming years, but the listing is to show the earliest they can become a free agent.

- Former reliever Masa Kobayashi has a $250K buyout added to the 2010 payroll because the Indians did not pick up his 2010 option (he was released mid-season last year).
