Its outcome may have spurred Genderson to commit murder but it most certainly prompted Elaine to ask why Kramer was such a stickler for such a silly rule. Kramer says "a rule is a rule.
After dropping out of a Saturday morning tie for the lead by shooting a 3 over 74 in the third round, Kenny Perry bounced back magnificently on Sunday, quickly taking advantage of the fading 54 hole leader Mathew Googin to charge back to the front on the early in the round, and then holding on to win by two over Goggin, Mike Weir, Jerry Kelly, Justin Rose. The win was Perry’s third in Jack Nicklaus’ tournament, tying him with Tiger Woods for the most wins at Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio. The Mitch Man recaps Perry's win at Jack's majestic golf course.

Man, how things have changed since I was a kid. The United States of America cannot win anything in international competitions anymore. Our basketball team just recieved their latest annual embarrassment at the World Games. Our baseball team was a miserable flop at the World Baseball Classic. Our soccer team? Let's not even go there. I offer up my thoughts on America's latest tank job in this alcohol-aided rant.

Over the course of the next three days, one of my favorite sporting events of the year takes place: The Ryder Cup. Losers of 4 of the last 5, and underdogs for the first time in two decades, the American team features four rookies, and faces an uphill battle. Inside is a preview of this event, and the Friday morning matches ... which were just announced.

Captain Tom Lehman finished off his US Ryder Cup team with the announcement of captain's selections Stewart Cink and Scott Verplank (pictured). The two veterans join an otherwise inexperienced US Ryder Cup squad that many are calling the weakest in recent history. I've got my analysis on the team, and the United States prospects for the '06 Ryder Cup, which commences on September 22nd from The K Club in Dublin, Ireland.

Between my golf league, playing with clients, and playing with pals on the weekend ... I get out pretty often.
