Jesse LamovskyWith wins at Dallas and at San Antonio already in the books, the Cavaliers had an opportunity for a franchise first in Houston on Thursday night - a road sweep of the Texas trio of the Mavericks, Spurs, and Rockets. The milestone will have to wait. With three members of the rotation out of action- including its top two power forwards- the Cavaliers were muscled by the red-hot Rockets, 92-77.  And Jesse tells us about it.

Brian McPeekIt may be early February as well as 40 degrees and wet outside, but inside Quicken Loans Arena on Tuesday night it felt like late May. The Cavs and Celtics got together for a basketball game Tuesday night that had all the intensity and drama of a playoff game despite both teams being short key contributors. The result was an entertaining and frantic 114-113 Cavaliers victory. Brian McPeek tells us all about it.

Sam AmicoSam was down at The Q last night, covering what was a very big win at the corner of Huron and Ontario.  And in his game notes of last night's 114-113 win, Sam says that it's performances like that one that make you believe that the Cavs are still a special team that is the frontrunner to get back to the Finals.  Sam hits on the win, the Cavs winning 15 of their last 19, and Gooden's injury in his game notes.

Jesse LamovskyComing off the foul-tasting loss in Seattle, Saturday night presented an ideal get-healthy scenario for the Cavaliers. The Los Angeles Clippers were shorthanded and on the second night of a back-to-back, having been skinned by the dismal Timberwolves in the Twin Cities on Friday.  Tha Cavs found out shortly before tip that LeBron would play, and the rest of the evening was more or less academic.  L.A. was a nuisance at first, but Cleveland seized control immediately after halftime and won going away 98-84, maintaining possession of the Eastern Conference's fourth spot.
