Erik CassanoLarry Hughes has finally broken out of his worst slump of the season, and his improved play of late has coincided with coach Mike Brown moving Larry to the starting point guard role in the absence of Daniel Gibson. But is it the long term answer? Possibly, at least for the rest of this season, says Papa Cass. But he cautions us not to get too excited. History says that Hughes will inevitably revert to the player thats driven Cavs fans nuts over the last two seasons.

John HnatHands down, last nights game was one of the best regular season NBA affairs I've ever saddled up for. No pre game hugs, playoff intensity, the two favorites in the East trading haymakers, and the Cavs emerging victorious with a thrilling OT win. And LeBron James ... good God almighty. What a game. I really hope you didn't miss this one. If you did, John will fill you in.

Kevin Brewer writes about the NBA for The Washington Times. Today, he wrote a column in which he jumps on the "LeBron's had too much, too soon" bandwagon that Bill Simmons started during All-Star Weekend. He trots out many of the same generalizations that Simmons used against James in his own mean spirited hatchet piece. Has this hack watched LeBron's last six games? Doubtfully. The the more likely scenario is that he simply regurgitated what he assumed was still the conventional wisdom, because checking out LeBron's performance over the past several weeks would have required a little too much effort.

John HnatGreat win last night for the good guys, ruining the return of Yao Ming ... who missed a couple months with a knee injury. LeBron was simply amazing, Z came up huge late, Larry played well at the point again, and Shannon Brown continued to open eyes. This IS the best recurring Cavs column in existence. And it's written by a man named John Hnat.

Erik CassanoWhat a week for Cavs rookie Shannon Brown, who pulled off a "back to back to back" stretch of three games in three nights for the Cavs after a demotion to the NBDL, then promotion back to the varsity team after injuries to Damon Jones and Daniel Gibson. And somewhere in that stretch, the light bulb has come on for Shannon, who all of the sudden looks like a guy that can really help this team down the stretch. Papa Cass hits on the Cavs talented rookie from Michigan State in his latest.
