Indians Indians Archive It's Tribe Time: Pitchers and Catchers Report to Winter Haven
Written by Tony Lastoria

 Well, beat the drum and hold the phone - the sun came out today!

We're born again, there's new grass on the field.

A-roundin' third, and headed for home, it's a brown-eyed handsome man;

Anyone can understand the way I feel.

Oh, put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;

Put me in, Coach - I'm ready to play today;

Look at me, I can be Centerfield.

Spring Training is officially underway as pitchers and catchers reported today.  Workouts will not get underway until Saturday as players only report today, and tomorrow will undergo physicals.  Some players, like Victor Martinez and newly acquired free agent Jason Johnson, arrived a week ago and are already working out. The Indians lost several key players from the 2005 team, and added some new pieces to the puzzle.  While there are question marks with the team going into 2006, after winning 93 games last year the Indians still go into Spring Training with high expectations in 2006.

Over the course of the next several weeks leading up to the start of the season, SwerbsBlurbs.com will provide a thorough preview of the 2006 Indians, as well as preview the minor league teams in Lake County, Kinston, Akron, and Buffalo.  And the coverage of the Indians will only intensify as the season begins.  We will recap every game each morning, track rumors, and provide all sorts of insight and analysis from the Swerbs Blurbs talented stable of Indians correspondents.  And as always, we are talking Tribe in the Indians message forum here on the website.

Before we get to some key dates coming up as the Indians prepare for the start of the regular season, check out the complete Indians payroll and contract data we've compiled here on the site, which tracks the teams payroll and player contracts for this year and in future years.
