T.J. McFarland, SP-COL: W (2-1), 9 IP, 4 H, 4 K, BB.

Outstanding start for McFarland, who allowed just 5 baserunners in a complete game shutout of the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, outdueling former Indian Scott Elarton. McFarland has had four good AAA starts and one really bad one, and his 4.22 ERA with the Clippers is actually deceptively high. If you throw out his one bad start, he's allowed just 5 ER in 27 2/3 IP since being called up to the Clip Show on May 31. His GO/AO ratio is a solid 1.59, and that needs to stay in that range for McFarland to be effective as he's always been a guy who pitches more to contact as opposed to a big strikeout pitcher. He recorded 41 K in 61 1/3 AA innings, and now has just 15 in 32 AAA innings. McFarland turned 23 earlier this month, and he's turned himself into the top lefthanded prospect in the system over the past couple of years. The Indians coaching staff tinkered with his delivery a little in Goodyear this spring, and the results have been extremely positive so far. He's not going to be the future ace of the staff, and he's not going to blow anyone away and rack up 200 Ks in a season, but he can be a steady and effective piece of a major league rotation for a long time to come. He's much more Derek Lowe than Fausto Carmona, and that's a good thing.

Zach McAllister, SP-COL: 6 IP, 2 ER, 9 H, 3 K.  McAllister's last AAA start for a while? He and Jenmar Gomez both pitched on the same day, so it would be pretty easy for McAllister to slide into his spot in the rotation. McAllister now has a 2.98 ERA in 63 1/3 AAA innings, with 52 K and 19 BB.

Scott Barnes, RP-COL: 2/3 IP, 2 K, BB. Barnes has appeared in three games since returning to AAA Columbus, throwing 3 innings and striking out 5. He's allowed one earned run and walked three as well.

Cody Allen, RP-COL: 1 1/3 IP, K. Allen has a Pestano-esque streak going, as he's recorded at least one K in his last 10 outings, most of which have been just one inning of work. He's allowed 2 ER in his last 10 appearances, striking out 16 and walking 4 in 12 IP for the Clippers.

Tim Fedroff, CF-COL: 3-12, HR (2), RBI, R, 2 K. Since being called up to AAA Columbus in the beginning of June, Fedroff is hitting .352/.406/.519 in 15 AAA games. It's an impressive line for the OF, particuarly the SLG as his career minor league SLG is just .397.

Russ Canzler, LF-COL: 3-11, HR (8), 2 RBI, R, 2 K, CS.  Canzler continues his hot streak, as he's hitting .342/.409/.711 with 4 HR in his last 10 games. His overall AAA OPS is still just .760 after a really slow start in April and May.

Matt LaPorta, 1B-COL: 2-8, HR (16), 2 RBI, 2 BB, 2 R, K. Hey look, another Matt LaPorta AAA HR!

Steven Wright, SP-AKR: W (6-4), 6 2/3 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 4 H, 7 K, 3 BB. With knuckleballer R.A. Dickey tearing up the National League, it gives you a little more hope that Wright's outstanding AA season is legit. He's posted a 1.87 ERA in 77 innings, striking out 69 and walking 35.

Tyler Sturdevant, RP-AKR: 1 1/3 IP, H, 2 K, BB. This was Sturdevant's first appearance for Akron this year after 7 innings for Carolina. Looks like his cutter is coming back ok, and he's a legit bullpen option as soon as next year.

Preston Guilmet, RP-AKR: S (9), IP, H, K. Guilmet has allowed just 1 ER in his last 10 appearances, while nailing down 4 saves and striking out 8 in 10 2/3 IP.

 Rob Bryson, RP-AKR: 2 IP, ER, 3 H, 4 K, 2 BB. In his last 9 outings, Bryson has struck out 16, walked 8 and allowed 3 ER in 10 1/3 IP. His season ERA is 2.70 and he has 42 K and 24 BB in 33 1/3 IP overall.

Chun Chen, 1B-AKR: 8-14, HR (2), 3 2B, 5 RBI, 6 R. Huge weekend for Chen, and our long national nightmare is finally over as he's hit his 2nd HR of the season. Chen leads the Eastern League with 24 doubles, and he's now hitting a solid .327/.406/.449 on the season.

Jeremie Tice, LF-AKR: 5-12, HR (1), 5 RBI, 2 R, 3 K. Tice had a pretty good weekend in his first three games for the Aeros. He was hitting .282/.370/.580 for the Mudcats when he was called up, and hopefully that will continue with the Aeros now that he's finally reached AA.

Nick Weglarz, LF-AKR: 3-10, 2B, 2 RBI, 3 BB, 3 R, SB, 3 K. Wegz just keeps on hitting, and even swiped a bag this weekend. He's been on base at least once in 9 of his last 10 games, and has pushed his season line up to a respectable .250/.364/.478. That's borderline amazing considering that on May 1 he was hitting just .189/.317/.283.

Adam Abraham, 3B-AKR: 7-13, 3 2B, 5 RBI, 3 R, 2 K. Abraham had as good a weekend as anyone in the system, save maybe Chen. He's riding a modest 6-game hitting streak, during which he's gone 11-22 with 5 2B and 6 RBI.

Mike Rayl, SP-CAR: 5 2/3 IP, 5 ER, 10 H, 6 K, 2 BB. Rayl has given up 11 ER in his last two starts, spanning 7 2/3 IP. His season ERA has risen to 4.84, and he's 4-7 in his 15 starts for Carolina.

Cole Cook, SP-CAR: 2 1/3 IP, 5 ER, 6 H, 2 K, 2 BB. Cook was roughed up in his first start for the Mudcats, giving up 3 HR and 5 earned runs. He had posted a 3.46 ERA in 39 IP for the Captains, with 32 K and 11 BB before being called up to high-A Carolina on Friday.

Grant Sides, RP-CAR: IP, H, 2 K. Sides was also making his Carolina League debut on Saturday, and it went a little better than Cooks. Sides left Lake County with a 1.05 ERA in 34 1/3 IP, 2ith 37 K and 11 BB.

Shawn Armstrong, RP-CAR: 2 IP, ER, 3 H, 3 K, BB. Carolina League All-Star Armstrong now has a 1.75 ERA, 44 K and 16 BB in 36 IP for the Mudcats on the season.

Bo Greenwell, LF-CAR: 4-7, 3B, 2B, 2 RBI, R. Greenwell has hit in all 5 games he's played in since coming off the DL on June 14. and is batting .444 in his 18 AB for the Mudcats.

Ronny Rodriguez, SS-CAR: 2-8, HR (6), 3 RBI, 3 R, 2 BB, 2 K. Rodriguez has been having one of the best months in the system, hitting .356/.400/.589 with 3 HR, 2 3B, 4 2B and 14 RBI in 22 June games.

Carlos Moncrief, RF-CAR: 3-9, 2 2B, RBI, BB, 2 R, 4 K. Moncrief is hitting .245/.340/.464 with 9 HR, 35 RBI and 9 SB on the season, and is on his way to a 20/20 season for the Mudcats. The converted pitcher has one of the best arms in the system, and I'd love to see him play catch with Tyler Naquin.

Gio Urshela, 3B-CAR: 3-10, 2B, 3 R, K. Urshela had a 9-game hitting streak snapped on Sunday when he went 0-3. Still, he's pushed his season line up to .262/.302/.356 in 50 games for the Mudcats.

Elvis Araujo, SP-LCC: L (2-6), 4 2/3 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 6 K, 3 BB. Araujo missed the 2009 and 2010 seasons after having Tommy John surgery, and returned for 69 2/3 innings, mostly in the Arizona Summer League in 2011. This year, he's 2-6 with a 4.67 ERA, 57 K and 30 BB in 69 1/3 IP for the Captains.

Felix Sterling, SP-LCC: L (3-6), 4 IP, 4 R (2 ER), 6 H, 5 K, 3 BB. Sterling had a solid April, putting up a 3.60 ERA with 20 K in 25 IP. Things have been downhill from there though, as his ERA has risen two full runs to 5.63 and he's struck out 54 and walked 34 in 70 1/3 IP on the season.

Joseph Colon, SP-LCC: W (6-7), 6 IP, ER, 7 H, 6 K, BB. The 22-year old Colon has been having the best season of any Captain starting pitcher, putting up a 3.17 ERA and striking out 54 in 88 IP, while walking 26.

Rob Nixon, RP-LCC: 3 IP, H, 3 K, 2 BB. A 46th round draft pick in 2011. Nixon is 1-1 with a 3.31 ERA, 30 K and 21 BB in 35 1/3 IP for the Captains this season.

Luigi Rodriguez, CF-LCC: 5-13, HR (5), 3 RBI, 2B, 3 R, SB, K. After posting just a .538 OPS in May, Rodriguez has been back on track in June with a .289/.313/.500 line, including 3 HR and 5 2B in 17 games.

Francisco Lindor, SS-LCC: 2-12, 2 BB, 2 R, 2 SB, 2 K. Recently named to the MLB Futures Game during All-Star weekend along with 1B Jesus Aguilar, Lindor is hitting .333/.510/.417 in his last 10 games. His .439 OBP in June is his best in any month this season.

Alex Lavisky, DH-LCC: 1-4, HR (5), RB, R. In 200 AB for the Captains this year. Lavisky is hitting .325/.302/.370 with 5 HR and 28 RBI. He's struck out 55 times and walked just 18.

Jake Sisco, SP-MVS: 4 IP, 3 R (2 ER), 2 H, 3 K, 4 BB. Sisco only allowed a pair of hits in his start yesterday, but walked four in as many innings of work. It was his 2nd straight start allowing 2 ER, and has a 4.70 ERA in 7 2/3 IP this season.

Robbie Aviles, SP-MVS: 4 IP, 3 ER, 5 H, K, 2 BB. Good to see Aviles healthy and pitching, as the 2010 7th round pick missed almost all of 2011 after needing Tommy John surgery. He was seen as a 1st or sandwitch round pick before he got hurt, so there's a lot of potential value here.

Tyler Naquin, CF-MVS: 0-4, K. Naquin has played in just two games for the Scrappers, and followed up his productive debut with an 0-fer on Friday.

Juan Romero, RF-MVS: 2-7, RBI, BB, 2 R, 5 K. Well, Romero's BABIP was 1.000 this weekend. When he hits the ball, he generates loud contact. But there's still a lot of swing and miss in his game, something he'll need to improve as he rises up the organizational ladder.

Charlie Valerio, C-MVS: 3-7, 2B, BB, R, K. The switch-hitting Valerio is making his first appearances outside of the complex leagues this year with the Scrappers, and is hitting .250/.500/.667 with 2 2B in 6 New York-Penn League games.

Nick Pasquale, RP-AZL: W (1-0), 4 IP, 2 H, 2 K. Four solid innings in AZ for the 20th round pick in this June's draft, who's also thrown two scoreless innings for the Scrappers since being drafted.

Jorge Martinez, 3B-AZL: 2-5, 2 R, K. Martinez is hitting .529/.600/.824 in his 4 AZ League games this year. He's an intriguing prospect who needs to fill out his frame and add some strength, but he's already got impressive raw power.

Dorssys Paulino, SS-AZL: 2-5, 2B, 2 R, K. Paulino was the Indians big signing in the International market last year, and the 17-year old is hitting .316/.381/.421 in four games in the complex leagues.

Josh McAdams, RF-AZL: 4-8, 2B, 5 RBI, BB, 2 R, K. McAdams was the Indians 7th round pick this year, and signed for an overslot bonus of $250,000. In addition to the solid weekend at the plate, he showed off his plus throwing arm when he gunned down a runner trying to score from his spot out in RF.
