Josh Tomlin was lit up to the tune of eight runs in four innings, the offense managed nothing, and the bullpen allowed the Twins to reach double digits as the Indians failed to build off their biggest win of the season and were absolutely blasted by the Minnesota Twins 11-0. It was ugly from start to finish as the Indians didn't record a hit until the fifth inning and Tomlin put them in a 3-0 hole by the top of the second.

Twins pitcher Scott Diamond, one of the biggest bright spots in an otherwise awful season for the Twins, finished off his complete game three-hit shutout, marking the fifth time that the Indians have been shutout and the fourth time in the month of July. Joe Mauer, Josh Willingham, and Justin Morneau did more than enough damage, combining for seven hits, nine RBI, and two home runs. Every Twin had a hit in the 15-hit outburst. Two Indians recorded hits in the game.

From start to finish, it was one of the Indians worst games of the season, except for the fact that they didn't make an error. In the first inning, Tomlin gave up a couple of singles and then a three-run bomb to Morneau. Tomlin settled down for a couple of innings, but he lit another fire on the mound in the fourth. With two outs, Tomlin surrendered what seemed like a harmless single to Alexi Casilla. Denard Span followed with a bunt single. Tomlin clearly lost his focus as the Twins pulled off a successful double steal to put runners at second and third. Ben Revere had the Twins third straight single in the inning to plate a run. Mauer yanked the fourth straight single into right field for another run. Willingham effectively put the game out of reach with a three-run jack, the second allowed by Tomlin on the night.

Jeremy Accardo also struggled, giving up three runs over two innings. As bad as the pitching performance was for the Tribe, the offense was worse. One Indian reached second base and one of the three hits was a base hit that hit the pitcher. The Indians didn't even work a walk and Diamond's complete game shutout took just 91 pitches to finish.

There's no reason to spend more time on this game as it's one that we'd all like to forget immediately.

Stat of the Night: With the 3-for-30 performance tonight, the Indians are now batting .228 against left handed starters this season.
