Chris Seddon battled pitch-for-pitch with Clay Buchholz up until a sixth inning mistake to Cody Ross that broke a 1-1 tie and the Red Sox held on to top the Tribe 3-2 and end the Tribe's modest two-game winning streak. The Indians managed just two hits, both from Asdrubal Cabrera, in their 61st loss of the season.

For the sixth straight game, the Indians scored in the first inning. Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo home run with one out in the first to put the Tribe on top 1-0. Not a whole lot happened after that until the fourth inning when Indians starter Chris Seddon gift-wrapped a run for the Sox. He walked Mike Aviles with one out and then made an errant pickoff throw to first that sent Aviles all the way to third. With the infield halfway in up the middle, Dustin Pedroia smoked a ball past Cabrera and into left field to tie the game at one. Had Aviles still been at first and the infield at double play depth, it would have been an inning-ending double play. Instead, due to the error, the game was tied.

Cabrera picked up the Indians' final hit of the night in the fourth with a leadoff double. Shin-Soo Choo did his job, hitting a deep fly ball to center field that got Cabrera to third. Carlos Santana grounded out to first and Michael Brantley lined out to shallow center to end the inning and strand Cabrera at third. That run came back to haunt the Indians when Cody Ross hit a two-run home run off the STO camera in center field in the sixth. Seddon hung his head in the center of the diamond as Ross rounded the bases and gave the Red Sox a 3-1 lead.

The Indians inched a run closer in the bottom half of the inning on a double error and a sac fly. Jason Donald chopped a ground ball up the middle that skidded off the back of the mound and handcuffed Pedroia. To make matters worse, Aviles, retrieving the ball in shallow center, fired towards first and hit Donald with the throw. The ball caromed into the seats and Donald was awarded two bases. Ezequiel Carrera followed with a sac fly to right to cut the deficit to 3-2.

The Indians bullpen pitched well tonight, throwing three innings of scoreless relief, but the offense could not solve Buchholz. He finished off his complete game with a 1-2-3 ninth and threw just 89 pitches in going the distance. With the loss, the Indians fell to 52-61 and Chris Seddon dropped to 0-1. Clay Buchholz racked up win #10.

Stat of the Night: A year ago on August 10, the Indians were 58-56 and just two games behind the Tigers in the AL Central after beating them 10-3.

Player of the Game: Chris Seddon. Why not? With Roberto Hernandez throwing seven solid innings in Columbus tonight, Seddon will either be sent to the bullpen or sent back to Columbus, so I'll give him his moment in the sun.
