If it involves violence of any sort, my cousin Scott is there. Mixed martial arts, boxing, dwarf tossing, you name it. Today, he previews "UFC Ultimate Fight Night" for us, which goes off tonight at 8 PM on Spike TV. The free event features a main event that makes it must see TV. The Spoon Man's preview is inside.

April is a great month for UFC fans. In what is turning into one of the most popular sports in the world, the UFC will give us three shows in the span of sixteen days.

The trifecta gets started tonight, live on Spike TV. The Pearl of Las Vegas will be hosting the card, chock full of up and coming stars of the sport. It is all the lead-in to Season 5 of the Ultimate Fighter TV show.

The main event makes this evenings event must see TV. Two fighters from the Ultimate Fighter Series going toe to toe will be the headliner. The winner of the Joe Stevenson vs Melvin Guillard fight will be in line for a title shot in the Lightweight Division.

Stevenson will bring his 3-1 UFC record in and possesses awesome wrestling skills into the octagon tonight. His ground and pound is very impressive and his striking has gotten much better from the Spike TV show of a few years ago. His all around game makes him the slight favorite in the fight.

Melvin Guillard also brings a 3-1 UFC record into the fight. This dude is one freak of an athlete and I have been impressed with his growth as a fighter. His striking and stamina are his best skills. If he can stay on his feet and turn this into a standup fight, he has a pretty good chance to get the victory.

I like both fighters skills and look for this to be a hotly contested match. I look for Joe “Daddy” Stevenson to get the win using his ground and pound.

Another Ultimate Fighter alum Kenny Florian is on the card. He will be taking on Dokonjonosuke Mishima. Florian will look to regain his winning ways after losing in the Lightweight title match to Sean Sherk. He will get it done here using his tremendous overall skills.

Another one of my favorite fighters to watch, Drew Fickett, is also on the card. He should also regain his winning formula in a bout with Keita Nakamura.

Full fight card:

Joe Stevenson Vs. Melvin Guillard
Justin McCully Vs. Antoni Hardonk
Dokonjonosuke Mishima Vs. Kenny Florian)
Keita Nakamura Vs. Drew Fickett

Forrest Petz Vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
Seth Petruzelli Vs. Wilson Gouveia
Roan Carneiro Vs. Rich Clementi
Naoyuki Kotani Vs. Thiago Tavares

We have this card full of all young and up and comers on Thursday and we have a pay-per-view show on Saturday to cap off a nice weekend of fights.

I know I’m looking forward to the shows.
