Cung Le was kind enough to take a few minutes to speak with me recently.

SS: Thanks for taking the time to speak with me, you just celebrated a birthday on May 25th right?

CL: Yes I did, thank you

SS: May 25th just happens to be my birthday also. I'm a big fan and it's a pleasure to get the chance to speak with you.

CL: Happy belated birthday to then also.

SS: Great fight with Frank, fight of the year so far in my opinion.

CL: Thank you, I am very pleased with the outcome.

SS: Going into the fight, he said he was going to stand with you and not take the fight to the ground. Did you believe any of that?
CL: Of course not. Frank is a very intelligent guy and wanted to cover his own tracks. If he couldn't get me to the ground he was going to be forced to stand with me. Not trying to take me down was a mistake on his part and I beat him fair and square.

SS: The million dollar question is how is your ground game? We haven't had a chance to see it yet.

CL: That's just like asking Chuck(Liddell) how his ground game is right? I'm a standup fighter, everybody knows that. People will have to take me down and find out. I was able to stuff Shamrock's attempts and get out of any trouble. That showed some of my good defense.

SS: With your standup being so dominant, do you tend to work on your ground game more?
CL: I work my whole game equally. I believe in working on my strong points and not neglecting them. I think that's what happened to Cro Cop when he got to the UFC, he trained for the ground and neglected his standup. I train smart to be the most complete fighter.

SS: When we will see you back in the cage and against who?

CL: No idea yet. I just finished filming the movie "Tekken" and I'm looking at three possible movie deals right now.

SS: As a fan, I'm hoping it's not too long until we see you fighting again. Where can our readers go to get updates on what you're up to and also on your background?

CL: Feel free to checkout my official site at CungLe.com. My movie info can be viewed at IMDB.com as well.

SS: Thanks again for taking the time to speak with me, I look forward to seeing you fight again soon and also in some upcoming movies.

CL: Thank you very much.
