Last night in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand was host to one of the most electric crowds in UFC history. There were 14,855 rowdy fans packed in to see one of the biggest and best cards that mixed martial arts fans have ever witnessed. In the main event, Georges St. Pierre showed us once again that he is the best fighter in the world today, and it isn't even close ... dominating B.J. Penn en route to a stoppage after the 4th round. My cuz recaps the entire card for us.

Last night in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand was host to one of the most electric crowds in UFC history. There were 14,855 rowdy fans packed in to see one of the biggest and best cards that mixed martial arts fans have ever witnessed.

UFC 94 was loaded from top to bottom to great talent and it sure lived up to the hype. Every fight was entertaining and made me realize yet again that mixed martial arts is the best sport in the world.

Georges St. Pierre is the best fighter in the world today, and it isn't even close. The welterweight champion defended his belt against lightweight king BJ Penn. GSP dominated from the opening bell until Penn's corner stopped the fight after the completion of the fourth round.

Penn was dominated in every way possible and had no answer for the quicker, stronger, and more skilled St. Pierre. At the end of the fight BJ Penn was a mess and it looked like GSP didn't get hit at all.

The first round saw GSP use his size and strength to muscle Penn around. He had him pinned up against the octagon fence and landed some good strikes. Penn was unable to get away from and you could see the frustration early on.

The rest of the fight, GSP dominated using his world class wrestling skills. He was able to get takedown after takedown and started to unload with elbows and hammer fists. To Penn's credit, there was no quit in him even though he was getting destroyed.

The fourth and final round saw St. Pierre just batter the smaller Penn. The jab of GSP was very accurate and landed at will. He wanted to punish Penn for all of the talk he did leading up to the fight. He did just that and he was the one who made Penn quit before the fifth and final round.

Georges St. Pierre put on a phenomenal performance and proved he is the pound for pound king in the mma world. The best part to me was after the fight when both fighters were classy and put the thrash talk behind them. There is a ton of respect from each fighter and you could see last night.

The main event was easily the biggest fight in a long time for the UFC. The undercard was entertaining as well, let's recap those fights:

Lyoto Machia vs Thiago Silva

Both light heavyweight contenders came in at 13-0 for their careers. Machida left 14-0 in what was a very good performance. He landed the better shots and got a vicious KO with just one second left in the very first round. Silva didn't fight his aggressive fight and paid for it. I wasn't sold on Machida heading in and I'll admit when I am wrong. Machida is legit.

Nate Diaz vs Clay Guida

The best tactical fight of the evening. Two very solid fighters in the 155 pound division. Guida secured the decision win with his striking and aggressiveness. Diaz, at only 23 years old, has a very very bright future ahead of him. I love his style and overall skill set. He will be the title hunt before long. Guida has been getting better every time out and is on a nice little winning streak in the UFC.

Stephan Bonnar vs Jon Jones

Jon Jones won an easy decision in a fight he dominated. He is another young fighter who will make some noise down the line. Bonnar might be the most overrated fighter in the UCF as he did nothing to impress me.  Jon's striking is very unique and used that to land the better shots at a more frequent pace.

A great night for the UFC yet again. The best fighter in the world was on the card and put on a picture perfect display of mixed martial arts. The scary thing about GSP is that he keeps getting better every time we see him in the octagon. Thiago Alves will be his next challenge and it will make for another exciting fight.

Another great thing about the UFC is that they have events on a very regular basis because of the talent level they have. UFC Fight Night is the next event and it takes place in less than a week on February 7^th. I know I'll be there. Tune in so you don't miss the fasting growing and most entertaining sport in the world.
