Out of 10 games to choose from, 2 were of the push variety last week. Bama super-back TJ Yeldon (unlike all the ordinary backs that have flowed through there as of late) fumbled in the middle of a route and Mini Tebow was able to mount enough a late rally to get A&M within 7, and KC... well, I guess KC is just better than I thought as they won by 1 against the 'Boys.
These 2 push games were the only blemish of the week for DJC and me, as we rode out of town with shiny 5-1 records (the Under was the way to go on the Philly offensive plays, as the 59 they did get against SD was way less than the 99.5 on the line - apparently the revolutionary new offense is mortal after all).
MO wasn't too shabby either with a 3.5-2.5 record (only one push), and BT came in last due to being the only person to think the Eagles would run 100 plays (2.5-3.5).
Season: Me, 8-4, DJC, 7-5, MO & BT, 5.5-6.5.
This week's options (lines provided by USAToday.com)
Mich St at ND - ND by 6.5
FLA A&M at OSU - Buckeyes by 50
HOU at BAL - HOU by 2.5
CLE at MIN - MIN by 6
NYG at CAR - CAR by 1
BUF at NYJ - Jets by 2.5
IND at SF - SF by 10
CHI at PIT - CHI by 2.5
ATL at MIA - MIA by 2.5
JAX at SEA - SEA by 19
And the bonus pick:
Over/Under on Trent Richardson getting 80 yards rushing with the Colts this week.
BT:
ND -6.5 (MSU): I don't have time for color comments.
BAL +2.5 (HOU): I like men. I like to be manhandled. I like you.
MIN -6 (CLE): It won't be easy. I don't shower much.
ATL +2.5 (at MIA): If you shoot me for this pick, you're liable to lose a lot of those humanitarian awards.
SEA -19 (JAX): When watching the Seahawks, I rent rubber gloves. I have a lease with an option to buy.
BONUS: Over/Under on Trent Richardson getting 80 yards rushing - UNDER
DJC:
Florida A&M +50 (at OSU): NO WAY they cover 50. *Unless Guiton is QB!*
MIN -6 (CLE): Can I take MIN by 40?
BUF +2.5 (at NYJ): O come, o come Manuel!
ATL +2.5 (at MIA): I could never pick a team nicknamed 'The Fins'.
JAX +19 (at SEA): That's a big number. JAX (will lose by 18).
BONUS: Over/Under on Trent Richardson getting 80 yards rushing - UNDER. Seems like a lot of yards for a guy Cleveland would just trade away on a whim...
MO:
MSU +6.5 (at ND) – Still hating on ND.
CHI -2.5 (at PIT) – Big Ben hasn’t met a lineman yet he doesn’t want on top of him.
BUF +2.5 (at NYJ) – Rex will contemplate tattooing a Mario Williams caricature on his back after the game.
SEA -19 (JAX) – Coming off a big win against a rival, now vs. a big underdog, don’t see the Jags pulling a ZIPS.
NYG +1 (at CAR) – Sympathies to the Coughlin family for their loss.
BONUS: Over/Under on Trent Richardson getting 80 yards rushing - UNDER. Can’t imagine he knows all the protections already, even though Lynch ran all over them.
Yours Truly:
Florida A&M +50 (at OSU): Going "all ridiculous lines" this week. 50? That's a real hefty number to cover.
CLE +6 (at MIN): The Defense is still good, and, eager to prove they aren't tanking it (which they are) the Browns pull a shocker and cause a Brian Hoyer media firestorm which lasts all of one week until teams figure out how to defense him.
NYG +1 (at CAR) – Despite how bad their D has looked, I can't imagine this team falling to 0-3.
CHI -2.5 (at PIT) – The Unwashed are desperate for a win, but they'll have to wait a couple weeks until they play the Browns, since they are not not bad.
JAX +19 (at SEA): The other ridiculous line. I know that the Jags are bad - they are Cleveland's clear toughest competition in the 2013 Lose-a-thon - but Seattle has a bit of a let down after their Niner slaughter and subsequent drop in opponent level. They let JAX hang around long enough to keep the winning margin around 17.
BONUS: Over/Under on Trent Richardson getting 80 yards rushing - UNDER. He's just not gonna get the reps, and that's still SF's Defense he'll be playing.
