It didn't take long for the Browns to make a significant signing in free agency. ESPN's John Clayton has reported the Browns have signed offensive lineman Eric Steinbach to a 7-year $49 million deal. Reportedly, the deal include a signing bonus around $18 million. The NFL Network has also confirmed the signing.
At such a large contract figure, it is hard to believe Steinbach was signed to anchor the interior of the Browns line. Savage has expressed a strong desire to fill the interior of the Browns line this offseason, but it is not out of the question that the Browns may have their new left tackle.
More on this developing throughout the night.
In other news, one of the Browns fans top free agent targets, cornerback Nate Clements, has signed with the San Francisco 49ers.
