Last night in Las Vegas, Chad Dawson proved to the world that he isn’t the future of the light heavyweight division. He is the now. Dawson dominated every aspect of his fight with Antonio Tarver and was crowned WBC, IBF, and IBO light heavyweight champion.  In the co-feature on Showtime, heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko's brother Vitali returned after four years away from the ring and beat #1 heavyweight contender Samuel Peter into submission.  My cuz recaps both scraps.

The two best light heavyweights in the world will be squaring off tonight in Las Vegas.  "Bad" Chad Dawson will step in with Antonio Tarver in what figures to be a very entertaining fight.  Before that is a clash of top ranked heavyweight contenders, as Samuel Peter takes on Wladimir Klitscko's brother Vitali.  Both fights are on Showtime Saturday night, and mu cuz previews both beefs for us here on The Cleveland Fan.

It was the worst case scenario last night for the Elite XC . What started off as a disaster in the afternoon turned into a nightmare for the financially struggling mixed martial arts organization.  MMA legend and UFC Hall of Famer Ken Shamrock was forced out of the main event fight with Kimbo Slice because of a cut above his eye suffered in a light warm up.  Then his no name last second replacelemt knocked Kimbo Slice out cold in 15 seconds.  My cousin recaps last night's travesty.

On Saturday night on CBS, mixed martial arts fans will get a free night of intriguing mma action as the Elite XC series put together it's best card in the short history of that organization.  The headliner?  Internet street fighter extraoridnaire Kevin "Kimbo Slice" Ferguson takes on mma living legend Ken Shamrock.  The card has several other intriguing fights, and my cousin previews the event for us in his latest column.
