Ryan AroneyCleveland State is set to host the Wisconsin schools, Milwaukee on Thursday and Green Bay on Saturday, in the final home stand of the season. The Vikings (17-8, 8-5) are on a four-game winning streak and have pulled into a fourth place tie with Wright State in the Horizon League, just a game behind Milwaukee for third and three games back and within striking distance of second place Green Bay. From that first night of the year when Cleveland State eked out a three-point home win over Greg Kampe's Oakland University Golden Grizzlies, films of CSU games have told opposition coaches one thing more than any other: play a tight, sluffing zone against the Vikings, and you'll have an excellent chance to win. A winning strategy most nights against the Vikings, but not this night, thanks to freshman guard Jeremy Montgomery, who allowed the Vikes to sneak out of the UIC Pavilion with a stirring 66-63 victory. Turning in his second straight 20+ point scoring effort and another defensive gem of a game, Norris Cole led the Cleveland State Vikings to a 59-50 win over the Wright State Raiders last night at the Wolstein Center. It was a weird game, with some violent ebbs and flows, but the Vikes prevailed to get their 6th win in Horizon League play. Jay Pearlman recaps the win.

Returning home last night from a winless three-game road trip at 4-5 in the Horizon League, the pre-season favorite Cleveland State Vikings welcomed the second most disappointing team in the league into Wolstein Arena, the 0-9 University of Detroit Titans.
