Six weeks ago we sought out to establish the greatest moment in Cleveland sports history since the city won their last professional sports title in 1964 when the Browns defeated the Baltimore Colts and Johnny Unitas for the NFL Championship. We started with a bracket of the 32 greatest moments, and whittled it down round by round. Now we're down to two. Click inside for details on our Finals matchup, and also the new brackets we have running here at TCF.
And then there were two!
And now, we're left with just two.
The Cavaliers winning the LeBron James lottery. And the Indians defeating the Seattle Mariners for the 1995 American League pennant.
I've been on "All Bets Are Off" with Bruce Drennan each of the last five Tuesdays to promote this and the bracket has collected tens of thousands of votes from you the fans. The reaction and feedback from our readers has really been incredible as well. We love this bracketing module, and really feel there are a lot of fun things we can do with it in the months and years to come here at The Cleveland Fan. I'll be on with Bruce again tomorrow to discuss the championship matchup and take a look back at how the two events got there. We'll cut voting off tomorrow, Tuesday 9/18, at 12 noon.
Also, just a reminder about a couple of other brackets we have going. Our "64 Best Actors In Hollywood" bracket is now down to The Final Four. We've got Jack Nicholson pitted against Tom Hanks, and Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino going head-to-head in the other semi-finals matchup. Click here to cast your vote and help create the championship. Both matchups are very close.
Lastly, we've also posted out latest effort, "The 32 Most Heartbreaking Moments In Cleveland Sports History". The sixteen first round matchups are now up for voting, and can be accessed by clicking here. The Drive, The Shot, The Fumble, The 1997 World Series, Red Right 88 ... which event was most painful to the Cleveland sports populace? We'll find out in the weeks to come.
Thanks again for making our site a daily stop. And GO TRIBE this week!
