Mitch CyrusNot many new options at the theater this weekend if you are a male that isn't into cheesy horror flicks ... as "Sex & The City" and "The Strangers" are the two new releases of note today. Mitch ... he's being drug by his wife to go see Sarah Jessica (why the long face?) and the gals ... take a sec to wish him luck. He'll be the guy with the nose and moustache disguise on. In the News & Rumors this week, Mitch has some interesting news on names being bandied about to play the lead in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit".

Mitch CyrusHarrison Ford makes his long anticipated return as the swashbuckling archeologist Indiana Jones, nineteen years after his last turn underneath the fedora in 1989’s “Indiana Jones and the Final Crusade”. Steven Spielberg is also back on board as director, with George Lucas returning as producer and co-writer, and John Williams at the baton for the well known musical score.  There's a lot of hype around this one, and Mitch was at the theaters on opening night to review it for us.

Mitch CyrusOne mammoth box office release this weekend, as "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull" hit the theaters ... and we've already posted Mitch's review of it. The Mitch Man has all kinds of good scoop in this week's Crystal Ball, including news on the new "24" movie coming out, and who's been casted in it. Mitch also gives us some updates from Cannes, news on the two "The Hobbit" movies Peter Jackson is taking on, and gives us this week's releases on DVD.

Mitch CyrusIt was off to the theaters again this weekend for Mitch, as he took in the second installment of "The Chronicles of Narnia" series for us, reviewing the film for us today here at The Cleveland Fan.  Hailed as "Lord of the Rings Lite" by many moviegoers, Mitch enjoyed this film, calling it a classic tale of good vs. evil, and a film that displays excellent special effects and cinematography.  Mitch's next project for us?  A biggie.  The new Indiana Jones film.  He'll be there on opening night (Thursday) and we'll run his review shortly after.

Mitch CyrusIt's official. Our first bomb of 2008, as "Speed Racer" crashed into the wall on turn one. Stories are out that it will end up costing the studios between $250 - 300 million to make and promote that mess, and it ended up only taking in $18 million at the box office last week. Mitch hits on that, some intriguing new film projects in the works, and this weekend's one big theater release in his Friday night column for us, "The Crystal Ball".
