Mitch CyrusIt was a big week for the Mitch Man and his "24" recaps this week, as three of the people listed near the top of his "Odds of Survival" section all bit the dust in this week's episode. Mitch says this episode was the most action-packed of the season, but also the most frustrating ... as President Taylor and many of the non-Jack Bauer's scenes are really starting to grate on him. Mitch Cyrus"Schindler's List", "The Downfall", and "Letters From Iwo Jima". Three phenomenal movies, all of which focused on World War II from a non-United States viewpoint. In "Defiance", Mitch says we now have another film that we can add to that sub-genre. Starring Daniel Craig and Liev Schreiber, the film relives an excellent (and true) story from WW II, told briliantly by director Edward Zwick ("Blood Diamond", "The Last Samurai, "Courage Under Fire").

If past is prologue, we know its only a matter of time before that number starts rising. Mitch CyrusClint Eastwood has stated that he is "probably" retiring from his distinguished career in front of the camera. If true, then "Gran Torino" will be his final performance as an actor ... and Mitch thinks it will go down as one of his most memorable roles in a career that was filled with them. In the film (also directed by Eastwood), Clint plays disgruntled Korean War vet Walt Kowalski, who sets out to reform his neighbor, who tried to steal his prized possession: his 1972 Gran Torino.
