Mitch CyrusAs we do every year, we are running reviews from Mitch on all five Best Picture candidates in the week leading up to Oscar weekend. We've already run Mitch's reviews of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", "Milk", and "The Reader" ... and now we get to the two films Mitch loved, and the films he feels will battle it out for Best Picture of 2008. Tonight, we run his review of "Frost/Nixon" and Saturday we will run his review of "Slumdog Millionaire". And Sunday morning we will run Mitch's Oscar preview.

Mitch CyrusFor the third year in a row, Mitch is posting reviews of all five films nominated for Best Picture in the week before the Oscar presentations. And for the third year in a row, he tells our readers tonight that he has the unfortunate duty to review a film that had absolutely no business being nominated. Kate Winslet has been hailed for her performance in "The Reader", a role she is up for Best Actress for. But Mitch says not even her performance could save this film. Stay tuned this week for Mitch's reviews of "Frost/Nixon" and "Slumdog Millionaire".

Mitch CyrusWe had the first appearances from Miles O'Brian and Aaron Pierce, a couple of old "24" friends. Colonel Debaucle is on the run, and Mitch says he will meet his maker soon. The FBI mole was exposed. But we still have a White House Mole to uncover. And disappointingly, the Bauer Body Count held at 14 this week. But all in all, it was another exciting week of "24". And as he does each Wednesday night, Mitch checks in for his humorous recap of this week's episode.

Mitch CyrusSean Penn may be one of the most controversial actors in Hollywood today, but there is absolutely no denying the man's talent. It should therefore surprise no one that Penn once again gives a performance worthy of his Oscar nomination in Gus Van Zant's biographical film "Milk", chronicling eight years of the life of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay man elected for public office as a San Francisco city Supervisor in 1977. In addition to Penn's fifth Best Actor Oscar nomination, "Milk" is up for Best Picture this Sunday, and Mitch reviews the film for our readers.
